Description
Pre powder coat tape 6189HT is a double-coated foam tape that can be used to bond metal before the powder coating process, as it is able to withstand high temperatures up to 250°C. It is ideal when bonding metals, particularly when a permanent high strength is required. Some examples of applications include powder coated surfaces, such as rainscreens on buildings, electrical cabinets and sign construction.

How to apply pre powder coat tape 6189HT
Before applying pre powder coat tape 6189HT, surfaces should be clean, dry and free of any dirt, dust and grease. For the best results, we recommend using CTA IPA Cleaner Degreaser.
- Use sufficient pressure over the whole surface at room temperature to ensure maximum adhesion to substrates.
- The ideal application temperature is between 15 – 25°C.
- Primers can increase the bond durability and surface tension for difficult to bond materials. We recommend CTA Primer or CTA UV Identifiable Primer to achieve the best results.
- Ensure uniform stress distribution.
