Description
Low surface energy tape 61122R is a double-sided, ultra performance, acrylic foam tape. For demanding bonding interior and exterior applications on plastics, metals, glass, powder coated surfaces and more. This product has a high initial tack, perfect for when a permanent high strength is required and suitable for bonding stiffeners or sections of panels before or after they are powder coated.
Examples of applications include badges and trims, signs and display, bonding stiffeners or sections of panels, rain screens on buildings, electrical cabinets and sign construction.
Our LSE adhesive tapes are designed to bond low surface energy materials, they are also great for die-cutting.
Engineered materials like thermoplastics are increasingly being used in place of metals in most industries and whilst there are significant benefits to these materials, they are very difficult to bond to due to surface energy. CTA 61122R low surface energy (LSE) adhesive tape, allows for a clean and secure bond on low surface energy substrates such as Polyethylene, Polypropylene, Powder Paint, Nylon, PVA, Acetal and many more.

How to apply low surface energy tape 61122R
Before applying low surface energy tape 61122R, surfaces should be clean, dry and free of any dirt, dust and grease. For the best results, we recommend using a degreasing product such as our CTA IPA Cleaner Degreaser.
- Use sufficient pressure over the whole surface at room temperature to ensure maximum adhesion to substrates.
- The ideal application temperature is between 15 – 25°C.
- Primers can be used to increase the bond durability and surface tension for difficult to bond materials. We recommend CTA Primer or CTA UV Identifiable Primer to achieve the best results.
- Ensure uniform stress distribution.
