It is always great to be able to share our success stories, read on to see what company director, Josh Sykes from SS Metalworks, Leicester in the East Midlands, had to say about his experience with Central Tapes & Adhesives and CTA 16002 powder coat seam sealer adhesive on his metal fabrication application:
Josh has a background in commercial painting and now works in all forms of industrial and domestic metal building and installation, as well as repairs of fabricated metal products and joinery installation.
Josh recently contacted Mark Plimmer at CTA with concerns about various sealants from other companies he had used, without success specifically within a powder coat oven process. Josh sought Mark’s advice as a technical expert of sealants and adhesives. Sensing that Josh had experienced some failure of adhesives and a loss of confidence in other products, managing director, Mark Plimmer had no hesitation in recommending the CTA 16002 pre powder coat seam sealer adhesive with its ability to withstand the high temperatures of the process, along with other similar application success stories, Mark advised that the 16002 was the product Josh needed to restore his faith in adhesives.

Still harbouring some natural scepticism, Josh applied the sealant to the heavy metal tongue and groove joint of the industrial gates/doors and crossed his fingers! As Mark had predicted the process of powder coating was a complete success, the temperature of the oven process was “no problem” for the 16002-seam sealer, Josh was delighted and relieved. Finally, he had a product that he could trust. In fact, he was so pleased that he contacted Mark and told him:
“It worked a treat…I’ll be ordering some more again very soon, thanks”.
In a more recent phone call Josh told us:
“From now on I’ll be using the 16002 on everything metal, even building beams…now I know it can handle the heat! I’ve already recommended it to other businesses, I have no hesitation in telling anyone who needs a powder coat seam sealer that they should use this one…It’s brilliant!”
Since then, Josh has put our product forward as a solution for many applications to his business colleagues.
