Description

We offer two types of crusher backing for cone crushers, an Epoxy and PU version. The Epoxy is more traditional product used historically within the industry. Where as the PU (polyurethane) crusher backing is a newer technology as is clasified as none hazardous for transportation.

CTA Epoxy Crusher Backing is a two-part epoxy 10kg kit which has been formulated for use in the Quarry & Mining industry, specifically for use on cone and gyratory crushers. Our epoxy backing is tough, flexible and designed to be flowable into the smallest of cavities and contours of manganese steel. The two component Epoxy is split as follows: Part A: 9.43kg and Part B: 0.567kg. Mixed: 10kg.

Our unique PU crusher backing is tough, flexible and designed to be flowable into the smallest of cavities and contours of manganese steel. crusher backing compounds have been designed to provide high performance and reliability, even in the most demanding environments. They can be easily applied and provide maximum protection against impact and vibration. CTA crusher backing has been formulated to be suitable for all types of cone crushers. The two component PU is split as follows: Part A: 8.33kg and Part B: 1.67g Mixed: 10kg.

Crusher backing is used within the quarry and mining industry to protect the life span of wear parts within the crushers. The main purpose of our CTA Crusher Backing is to absorb the impact and reduce the vibration created by the crushers when in use. This product can be used within the following industries:

Quarrying, Mining, Recycling and waste processing, Cement & Concrete Manufacturers, Construction and  Aggregate producers.

Crusher backing to improve life span of cone crushers

CTA Crusher Backing is available in 10kg kits. To purchase a couple of kits or a full pallet of 80 kits please contact us.

Benefits of crusher backing

  • None Hazardous for transportation (PU)
  • Variable working time 5-50mins (dependent on temperature)
  • This product has very good compressive and flexural strength, with minimal shrinkage.
  • Crusher backing compounds for cone crushers provide ultimate impact protection and extend tool life.
  • This is a low-viscosity product, allowing easy mixing and pour-ability.

Product information

Using polyurethane-based technology, we have reduced health and safety issues and transportation costs, compared to epoxy-based products (CTA PU Crusher Backing is a non-flammable product). The mix ratio is 8.33 : 1.67 (by weight). This product is neatly packaged in a 10kg kit, Both parts are in metal containers.

CTA Industrial also offer many other adhesive products. You may also be interested in our range of Threadlockers, Retainers or Structural Adhesives.

How to apply crusher backing

Adhering to the principles outlined should give the optimum performance of the backing in the finished crusher: –
• It is important to consider storage at temperatures greater than 15°C
• Ensure the resin is of uniformed composition prior to commencing the mix.
• Once the resin is homogenized and at temperature the hardener can be added and the two components mixed together. It is important not to entrain air. Ensure the paddle remains submerged in the product for 2-3 minutes continual mixing, use a steady speed, typically not more than 1000rpm.
• Once mixed the crusher backing should be poured directly to ensure that there is minimum reaction in the container and that it is able to flow into place within the crusher before the Epoxy cures.
• in order to ensure a full cure of the material and hence optimum properties, it is important to maintain the temperature of the component at a minimum of 20°C as once it drops below this, there will be a drop off in the expected cure schedule. When temperatures are elevated, the curing time will de-crease. In extreme cases of coldness, you may want to consider using a blow torch or heat gun to the metal components.
