CTA Industrial offers a wide range of single-sided foam tapes designed for diverse applications. These tapes are made from various foam materials, including EPDM, PE, PVC, PU, EVA and acrylic foam. They are commonly used for vibration dampening, surface protection, gap filling, insulation, cushioning, and sealing.
Single-sided foam tape performs particularly well on uneven surfaces, as the foam can compress and return to its original shape. It also provides effective air and water sealing, absorbs shock, and offers both thermal and acoustic insulation.
Closed-cell – The foam is made of tiny sealed bubbles that do not allow air, water, or moisture to pass through. This structure makes the tape more rigid, durable, and ideal for sealing, insulation, and weather-resistant applications.
Semi-cell – The foam has a mix of sealed and partially open bubbles. This gives it some breathability and flexibility while still providing moderate sealing and cushioning performance.
Open-cell – The foam contains interconnected air pockets, allowing air and moisture to pass through. This structure makes the tape softer, highly compressible, and ideal for sound absorption, dust sealing, and cushioning.
Below are the main types of single sided foam tapes we supply:
EPDM Foam Tape
EPDM foam tape is made from closed-cell EPDM rubber foam, giving it excellent durability, flexibility, and weather resistance. It is predominantly used for outdoor sealing applications, including doors, windows, HVAC systems, electrical enclosures, and general industrial gasketing. This tape provides a reliable air and water seal and offers outstanding resistance to UV and temperature extremes.
Polyethylene Foam Tape
PE foam tape is made from closed-cell polyethylene foam, making it flexible, durable, and highly moisture-resistant. It is predominantly used for weatherstripping and sealing, gap filling, and light cushioning applications. This tape provides an effective air and water seal and offers strong resistance to chemicals and humidity.
PVC Foam Tape
PVC foam tape is made from closed-cell or semi–closed-cell PVC foam. It is more rigid than most single-sided foam tapes, making it ideal for structural sealing applications. Common uses include automotive door and boot sealing, HVAC gaskets, electrical enclosures, and sound dampening. PVC foam tape offers excellent resistance to weather, UV exposure, and temperature variations. Its high-density structure also provides effective vibration dampening.
Polyurethane Foam Tape
PU foam tape is made from open-cell polyurethane foam, giving it a very soft, highly compressible structure. It is commonly used for dust sealing, sound absorption, and light cushioning in electronics, appliances, and other sensitive equipment. Its high breathability makes PU foam tape particularly effective in acoustic applications.
Ethylene Vinyl Acetate Foam Tape
EVA foam tape is a soft, rubbery, and highly flexible material that offers excellent durability. It is commonly used for crafts and DIY projects, sports equipment, cushioning and impact absorption, as well as sealing in various consumer products. This tape provides strong flexibility, effective shock absorption, and moderate sealing capability.
