Description

Locker Retainers – Anaerobic adhesives

Locker Retainers are high-performance anaerobic retaining compounds specifically designed for bonding cylindrical components, including bearings, gears, shafts, and pulleys.

These compounds are particularly effective in:

  • Reducing assembly stresses
  • Preventing corrosion
  • Mitigating loosening caused by vibration or shockAnaerobic adhesives used for bonding cylindrical components

Retaining liquids offer a cost-effective and time-efficient solution for assembly processes.

Anaerobic retaining compounds are clean and easy to use, curing directly within the joint. They provide protection against corrosion, leakage, and loosening due to vibration, shock, and thermal expansion.

Additionally, most of these products are fluorescent under UV light, facilitating identification.

Locker Retainers also known as Anaerobic adhesives

1603 Retainer (Green – Medium to High strength)

A green retaining compound providing a permanent bond. Ideal for filling small gaps.

1604 Retainer (Green – High Temperature – Medium to High Strength)

A green retaining compound with high viscosity and high temperature resistance.

1231 Retainer (Green – Oil Tolerant – Ultimate Strength)

A green retaining compound with high viscosity and oil tolerance.

1232 Retainer (Yellow – Medium Strength)

A yellow medium strength, medium viscosity retaining compound. Ideal for bearing fit applications.

1229 Retainer (Green – High temperature – High Strength)

A green, high strength, low viscosity and high temperature resistant retaining compound. Ideal for clearance or press fit applications.

Typical Applications for Locker Retainers:

  1. Automotive Industry:
    • Fastening Panels and Trim: Locker retainers are used to secure interior and exterior panels, such as door panels, dashboard components, and trim pieces, ensuring they remain in place despite vibrations and impacts.
    • Securing Wire Harnesses: In automotive electrical systems, locker retainers help secure wire harnesses, preventing them from shifting and potentially causing electrical issues.
  2. Aerospace Industry:
    • Component Retention: In aircraft, locker retainers are critical for securing various components, such as panels, wires, and other assemblies, to prevent them from coming loose due to vibrations and changes in pressure during flight.
    • Engine Components: Locker retainers help hold together various engine components, ensuring they remain securely fastened under the extreme conditions of flight.
  3. Construction and Heavy Machinery:
    • Equipment Assembly: Locker retainers are used in heavy machinery to secure components like hydraulic lines, control panels, and other critical parts, ensuring they remain in place despite the harsh working conditions.
    • Securing Panels and Covers: In construction equipment, locker retainers help secure access panels, covers, and guards, ensuring they do not come loose during operation.
  4. Electronics and Electrical Systems:
    • Circuit Boards and Components: Locker retainers are used to hold circuit boards, components, and wiring in place, ensuring that everything remains securely fastened, even in environments with significant vibration or movement.
    • Enclosures and Casings: In electronic devices, locker retainers help secure enclosures, preventing them from coming apart due to handling or thermal expansion.
  5. Industrial and Manufacturing Equipment:
    • Securing Fixtures and Tooling: Locker retainers are often used in manufacturing settings to secure fixtures, tooling, and other equipment, ensuring they remain precisely positioned during operations.
    • Conveyor Systems: In conveyor systems, locker retainers help keep components like rollers, belts, and guards in place, ensuring smooth operation and reducing the risk of downtime.
  6. Consumer Products:
    • Home Appliances: Locker retainers are used in home appliances to secure components like panels, knobs, and wiring, ensuring they stay in place during use.
    • Furniture Assembly: In furniture, locker retainers can help secure parts together, particularly in flat-pack furniture that requires assembly by the consumer.

These are just a few examples, but locker retainers are versatile and can be used in many other applications where secure fastening and component retention are critical.

Assembly application information for Locker Retainers – Anaerobic adhesives:

Slip-Fitted parts:

If assembling slip-fitted parts, apply adhesive around the leading edge of the pin and inside the collar, rotating throughout assembly to ensure good coverage.

Press-Fitted parts:

These parts must have adhesive applied thoroughly to both mating surfaces and assembled at high pressure.
